Communicator for ABF Mellersta Norrland

ABF is Sweden's leading study association and a force for change. We work to create a more equal and inclusive society, where more people have the opportunity to grow through education, culture, and community. Our roots are in the labor movement, and we believe in the power of popular education, strengthening democracy, and giving more people a voice.

With us, curiosity and development are at the center – both for those we reach through our activities and for you who become a part of ABF.

Are you an experienced, engaged, and creative communicator with a passion for popular education and social impact?

ABF, Sweden's largest study association, is now looking for a communicator for our new district organization in Mellersta Norrland, covering Västernorrland and Jämtland-Härjedalen. Our work aims for increased equality, democracy, and participation. We believe in learning, education, and the power of community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a communicator with us, you will be a key person in building a new team where you, together with colleagues, are responsible for planning and implementing communication efforts and activities to highlight ABF's operations and values in our part of the country.

Your assignment includes internal and external communication, from press releases and other proactive press work to marketing efforts and newsletters. You will also be responsible for monitoring your area and contributing to strategic initiatives, as well as acting as a project manager in various contexts. Within the role, you will also produce various types of content tailored for different target groups and channels, including text, images, and videos, as well as texts for the web and social media. You will also measure and follow up on efforts to optimize our communication.

The role involves close collaboration with colleagues throughout ABF and with our partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is self-driven and analytical with the ability to express themselves well in Swedish and English. Above all, you are a development-oriented team player with a pedagogical flair.

You have at least five years of experience in communication work and are familiar with the mission of the civil society and the values of popular education. Experience in project management, graphic production, web publishing, and social media is an advantage, as well as knowledge of tools like the Adobe suite, Canva, and WordPress.

As a person, you are responsible, solution-oriented, and attentive, with experience working closely with clients and stakeholders at various levels. You have a positive approach and find it easy to build both relationships and trust and manage them well. We also believe you are used to working systematically with follow-up and have the ability to simplify the complex, always with the target audience in mind. We also think you have good self-awareness and are used to driving the work forward.

For us, it is obvious that you share ABF's and the labor movement's values and can work purposefully in a dynamic work environment.

This is not a ready-made role in a finished organization; this is an opportunity for you who want to build a broad popular education and contribute to a strong infrastructure for democracy, culture, and community life in our part of the country.

We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
